Loose Reins is in Dorset’s Blackmore Vale, part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s been designated as an AONB for its varied landscape, panoramic views and wildlife habitats as well as its rural traditions, tranquility, dark night skies and heritage.
The Dorset AONB is also a window on the past, from the million-year-old geology of the Jurassic Coast to the hillforts, henges, castles, market towns and traditional farms that have grown up over the centuries.
Dorset is a beautiful and unspoilt county, and the AONB is a special part of that. Within that is the Blackmore Vale with its rich and wonderful countryside and in the middle of all that is Loose Reins Country.
