Meet The Residents
Coming soon, an introduction to all of the friendly animals that call Loose Reins their home...
Fun and Games Always to be Had!
The Loose Reins animals will all be here to welcome and entertain you... our two Pygmy goats are as comical as ever with their funny antics, see our sweet ponies and rare breed sheep nibbling peacefully on the grass, feel your spirits lift at the lambs racing around the edge of their field in the evenings or climbing on top of their long suffering mums for a better view. We have a Forestry Commission licence and you are free to roam the huge forests next to Loose Reins - build a den, make a bow and arrow, climb a tree. Enjoy the fun of outdoor cooking on your own fire pit and toast marsh mallows around the camp fire. Bring a ball or outdoor games - you are welcome to race around our huge sand arena or an empty paddock. Play board games, snuggle up with a book, spend some time drawing. And if you can bear to leave Loose Reins, North Dorset is one of the most beautiful parts of the UK with wonderful walking, riding and cycling.
Organised Children's Activities to be Resumed October 2021!!
Having suspended our Buckaroo Club due to the pandemic, we are very excited and delighted to be able to now offer this again and be able to host our Buckaroo Club from October Half Term 2021 onwards!
The Buckaroo Club - returning to Loose Reins October Half Term 2021!
We all need some outdoor time, so why not give your children a loose rein too…
They can help look after and feed our friendly rare breed ewes! Our girls are grey-faced Dartmoor ewes and will be expecting their first lambs in 2022! They can also feed corn to and collect eggs from our happy hens. Brush and make friends with our gorgeous miniature ponies, Peaches and Tango or help with general barnyard chores. Find the den on the edge of the forest, discover the wildlife, play hide and seek. The opportunities for fun activities and making new friends are endless…
