Pubs & restaurants

When it’s time for a well-brewed pint or crisp glass of white, there are plenty of options to keep you satisfied. For that authentic country pub atmosphere, we highly recommend the Fox Inn at Lower Ansty or the Langham Arms in Tarrant Keyneston. They may be a short drive away, but the experience is definitely worth it.

If you prefer to stay closer to home, there are a few hidden gems within walking distance. The Old Ox Inn offers a lovely beer garden and a wonderfully relaxed ambiance.

For a scenic stroll, take the North Dorset Trailway and head to The White Horse in Stourpaine; it’s a perfect way to work up an appetite. Finally, The Royal Oak in Okeford Fitzpaine is your go-to spot for catching those unmissable sporting events during your stay.

Food & drink producers

Our local area is well renowned for its small organic food and drink producers. Why not embark on a vineyard tour at Langham Wine Estate, where you can immerse yourself in the world of classic sparkling wines crafted using traditional methods? A real journey for the senses.

For those who appreciate the art of brewing, a visit to Hall and Woodhouse in Blandford promises not only a brewing experience but also a chance to soak up the atmosphere in their restaurant including, on occasion, live music events.

If farm-fresh delights tickle your taste buds, there are a plethora of farm shops in our local area. Goldhill Organics, with its charming cafe, offers a real culinary adventure. Then there’s the charming Enford Farm Shop, proudly showcasing produce from our village and neighbouring farms.

For a wider selection of Dorset’s finest, the Udder Farm Shop is a bit further afield but well worth the journey; boasting a treasure trove of Dorset produce as well as a fantastic restaurant. If you’re more in the mood for a quick cup of tea and a slice of cake, the wonderful Thyme after Thyme Cafe is just a stone’s throw away.
